The installer chose Hochiki’s YBO-BSB2, base sounder beacons. These VAD-style bases are mounted beneath the ESP intelligent (addressable) sensors on the ceiling to provide both audible and visual notifications. These products have the ability to provide fifty-one EN54-approved audio tones for emergency identification as well as a high intensity flash. Providing audio-visual warnings are mandatory in environments with a high level of background noise, to protect and notify personnel working there. Hochiki’s base sounder beacons in this application provided a highly flexible and compliant option for the IRIS 2002’s elaborate logistics application.
Hochiki’s ESP addressable range of sensors were seamlessly compatible with the base sounder beacons. Considering IRIS 2002’s scale of operations in their three floor, 6,600sqm garment warehouse, the extensive range of the ESP intelligent sensors can be tailored to specific locations and feature several enhancements to combat false alarms including automatic drift compensation and variable sensitivity. Combined with a compliant addressable fire control panel, they will pinpoint the exact location of a fire, enabling rapid responses as well as providing critical protection.
