LEAKtrace is Hochiki's conventional water leak detection system — a straightforward, reliable solution built for installations where simplicity and ease of deployment are key. Based around a compact control panel, LEAKtrace is ideal for residential properties, small buildings, plant rooms, server cupboards, commercial cellar space and any project where a fully addressable system would be more than the application requires.
Engineered with the same commitment to quality that defines every Hochiki product, LEAKtrace gives building owners and facilities managers the confidence that water leaks will be detected early — minimising the risk of damage, disruption, and costly claims.

Water damage represents one of the greatest threats to property and business continuity, with UK insurers paying out close to £1 billion in claims every year. Unlike fire, the risk of an escape of water is a daily reality in almost every building — from burst pipes and appliance failures to slow leaks in ceiling voids and plant rooms. For smaller properties and sites, the consequences can be just as devastating as for large commercial facilities.
LEAKtrace provides the early warning needed to act before damage escalates.

LEAKtrace is designed for fast, straightforward deployment. Its compact control panel suits small installations without the need for complex configuration or commissioning, making it ideal for installers working on straightforward projects.

Battery backup ensures LEAKtrace monitors for leaks around the clock — even during a power outage — so buildings remain protected at all times.

LEAKtrace supports both probe-based point detection and cable-based linear detection, and both can be used within the same zone. Each zone accommodates up to 20 probes or up to 50 metres of detection cable, offering genuine flexibility across a range of environments.

Notification devices utilise bright blue LEDs, enabling rapid and accurate visual identification of the leak location — reducing response time when it matters most. A voice sounder option is also available.

LEAKtrace can be connected to solenoid shut-off valves, enabling an automatic response to a detected leak and helping to limit damage from the moment of detection.

Hochiki offers two water leak detection solutions to suit different project scales and requirements:

LEAKtrace is a conventional water leak detection system centred on a compact control panel. It is designed for smaller, simpler installations where ease of setup and a lower cost of ownership are the priority.

LEAKalarm is Hochiki's fully addressable water leak detection system, offering vast loop coverage, BMS connectivity, powerful cause-and-effect programming, and 72-hour battery standby. It is the solution of choice for large or complex installations such as data centres, hospitals, and major commercial buildings.

Each zone has its own interface unit with blue LED, and supports probes (up to 20) and/or cable (up to 50m) in any combination. Both zones report back to the central panel.

The central hub of the system, receives zone signals, manages alarm and fault relays and drives outputs.

Required to power the control panel. Internal back-up batteries can keep the system running after a power failure for up to 72 hours.

Choice of voice sounder, beacon or remote indicator — all are triggered by the panel on alarm.

Panel output can be used to control external devices such as solenoid water valves, for instant water mains isolation on alarm activation.
