Fire Safety Event kicks off a year of exciting events for Hochiki Europe

In April 2023 in the UK we saw the Fire Safety Event taking place at the NEC, Birmingham. At double the size of the previous year the event saw a mix of exhibitors, speakers and opportunities for CPD, and with the show exhibitors finding themselves nestled between the Security Show and Health and Safety event there was plenty of scope for the conversation to spread further into other industries.

Hochiki Europe exhibited at the event for the first time since it opened its doors in 2016, and the team all agreed it was a great one to be at especially as they were able to demo our new intelligent emergency lighting system FIREscape Nepto.

The new system is BS 5266 compliant and, like its predecessor, is based around an addressable, emergency lighting control panel with addressable, self-contained LED-based luminaires and exit signs running on an extra-low operating voltage.

Visitors to the Hochiki stand were particularly interested to learn about the range of new features including its self-test and monitoring ability, alongside improved photometry and battery life. Customers were pleased to learn that FIREscape Nepto is just as quick and easy to install as well as less costly to operate than traditional lighting systems.

As well as demos of FIREscape Nepto, the team also showcased their Analogue Addressable Fire Detection range, ESP Intelligent, their modular life safety platform, Latitude, their combined fire and emergency lighting system, FIREscape+ and their specialist fire detection technology ranges for Intrinsically Safe and Explosion Proof as well as their portfolio of Marine Approved products.

At the conference there was fantastic opportunities to hear from various specialist and expert speakers including Hochiki’s very own Martin Green, Systems Sales Manager. On day two, Martin presented on the topic of cloud technology and how it might be used to enhance life safety technology on the Innovation and Regulation theatre. There was some great interaction between the audience and Martin and its clear the industry has an appetite for the potential cloud technology offers.

Commenting on the event, Nathan Hudson said:

“It's been a fantastic few days at Birmingham attending the Fire Safety Event especially as we were able to demonstrate our new emergency lighting system FIREscape Nepto. This year is our 30th year of trading as Hochiki Europe and as we have previously revealed we are investing £5.5million in a new facility in Kent which will be opening later this year, so attending and exhibiting at this event felt like the kick off to a very exciting year for Hochiki Europe and our customers”.
