High Sensitivity

The LHDC range features an extensive single zonal length of the specially designed cable, which can trigger alarms for hot spots occurring on very small sections of the total cable, providing accurate pinpoint fire location and guaranteeing rapid response.

Heat Detection

The range is designed to provide early detection of fire, detecting overheating where other forms of detection are unsuitable. This is particularly valuable in industrial environments where conventional point detection methods cannot be utilised.

Main Features of the LHDC Range

Fire Safety for Conveyor Systems

Conveyor systems can present a fire risk due to equipment failure and overheating.  Hot moving parts of the conveyor system can self-ignite and then carry the fire into other structures.  With heat detection cable installed along the length of the conveyor, any hot spots can be immediately detected.

Fire Safety in Cable Containment

A small cable tray fire can cause extensive damage to building structures, and disrupt critical processes, resulting in subsequent loss. Using the LDHC range, heat is detected long before a fire outbreak occurs, negating property or equipment damage.

Fire Safety in Tunnels

Due to increased air flow in tunnels, traditional smoke detectors can be prone to generating false alarms, as well as inaccuracy in fire location due to environmental contamination. The LHDC system provides accurate heat location within 1 metre.

Fire Safety in Car Parks

Increasingly, Linear Heat Detection cable is being recognised as the fire protection of choice for car parks. Due to smoke fumes, damp conditions, high humidity, and higher air flows, the LHDC is suited for harsh conditions that traditional point smoke detectors cannot withstand.

Fire Safety in Recycling Plants

Several recycling plants have had fires due to external events and equipment failures, igniting combustible waste products. Linear heat detection cable can provide early fire recognition, reducing damage costs, lessen pollution, minimise down time, and toxic fume inhalation.

Fire Safety in Food Processing

Food products being transported at high temperatures have the potential risk of fire and can cause disruption to the food handling process. This can be costly in loss of production down time and damage to machinery. A mechanical fault can cause a build up in heat which can be sufficient to ignite part of the machinery. A Grain Dryer for example, is one application where a build-up of husk can ignite, causing a fire and loss of product. LHDC is the obvious choice to provide early detection of fire conditions and overheating.

Ideal for Many Applications

The LHDC system is adaptable to a broad range of environments and applications where conventional fire detection methods cannot be utilised.
