Main Features of the FIRElink Range

Air Sampling Detection

An Air Sampling System is one which utilises the suction of air in conjunction with small pipe work to sample the air for smoke. An Air sampling detector is up to 200 times the sensitivity of a point detector.

How Air Sampling Works

With strategically placed pipes featuring sampling holes, connected to the main detector, air is drawn along the pipework into the detector’s measuring chamber.  A laser is used to measure obscuration from any smoke particles present, even at minute quantities. This   provides extremely high smoke sensitivity, detecting smoke at an earlier stage in the development of a fire than a point smoke sensor.

Where Air Sampling Can Be Used

Air sampling is adaptable to a broad range of environments, which are more sensitive than others. Some applications include clean rooms, computer rooms. Data centres, prisons, animal enclosures, large and cold storage facilities.

False Alarm Reduction

With the high sensitivity of air sampling systems, there is an increased chance of false alarms. However, with Hochiki FIRElink, false alarms are reduced by unique dust discrimination algorithms. Threshold levels can also be set, dependent on the environment.
