Hochiki’s world-leading intelligent addressable fire detection sensors deliver exceptional performance and reliability.

There are four models in the main sensor range offering optical smoke detection, heat detection, multi-criteria detection (smoke and heat) and multi-criteria with CO detection.

All models require just one, electronics-free mounting base, making ordering, stockholding and installation simple and efficient. The sensors are electronically addressed in seconds using a hand-held programmer via Hochiki’s ultra-reliable ESP protocol, so no fiddly mechanical addressing on site.

Intelligent ESP open protocol communication is supported by all leading fire panel manufacturers for complete flexibility for the installer when it comes to panel choice and comes with features such as extended addressing, sub-addressing, adjustable sensor sensitivity and drift compensation.

CHQ-I/O Modules

Hochiki’s world-leading CHQ range of Input/Output Modules has been designed to seamlessly provide additional control and monitoring functionality to the fire detection system. There are nine models in the main enclosure style range, each providing the system designer with a different function and application.

The majority are loop-powered, and between the various models can provide monitored inputs, change-over relays, fully monitored sounder circuits, conventional zone monitoring, monitored inputs and/or outputs, and mains-rated relays.

With control panel compatibility, individual module channels can even be independently addressed and controlled and monitored, adding a further level of flexibility.

Audio and Visual Alarm Devices

Our extensive range of intelligent addressable fire detection includes beacons, wall sounders, base sounders, combination sounder/beacons and a sub-range of EN54-23 approved VADs (Visual Alarm Devices).

Our sounders are all loop-powered and equipped with 51 EN54-approved tones with a wide range of sound levels and light outputs for any application.

Thanks to our innovative ESP Protocol, base sounders and base sounder beacons will automatically adopt an address based on the attached sensor address (the sensor addresses plus 127) saving time at install.

Depending on control panel compatibility, it's also possible to operate and control the sound and light outputs of the base sounder beacons independently, adding extra flexibility when it comes to system design and performance.

Key Benefits of the ESP Range

Extended Addressing

The usable address range (1 to 127) can be extended from 128 to 254 for certain alarm devices, minimising costs.

Sub-Addressing

Accommodates up to 8 inputs and 8 outputs at each address. Each sub-address can be used within the cause and effects to give greater system flexibility.

Rapid Response

ESP uses an Interrupt System to guarentee rapid responses from any device. The time lapse between operation of a call point and indication of a fire on the system is typically less than 1.5 seconds.

Data Integrity

ESP protocol minimises the possibility of data corruptio using a proven combination of algorithms and applies parity and checksum principles to every packet of data.

System Tailoring

Advanced controls within the ESP products include variable volumes and tones that allow systems to be tailored to achieve optimum performance.
