Warehouse Team Leader (Goods In & Stores)

The Warehouse Team Leader, responsible for the Goods in and Stores Area reports directly into the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager and works alongside another Team Leader covering Dispatch. The successful candidate needs to be a strong leader with proven people management experience, understanding the importance of Health and Safety and stock control systems.

What you’ll be doing:


  • Responsibility for the planning and assignment of daily tasks for Warehouse Operatives
  • To attend and facilitate the running of daily Warehouse staff meetings and team leader meetings
  • Management of stock and inventories via SAP, maintaining usage data to support Procurements forecasting activities
  • Responsible for the logistics of stock at External Contractor’s warehouse
  • Working with outside contractors to oversee maintenance of equipment and to develop strong business relationships
  • To oversee and implement KPI’s for Warehouse operatives
  • To provide support in the fixing of GI and CW to stock locations
  • To manage the process of stock reaching the production lines
  • Obtain and utilise data to drive process improvements across the Warehouse
  • Producing MI and KPI reports, presenting to management when required 
  • Organise and manage daily/weekly and annual stock takes
  • Design and improve SOP’s
  • To maintain and ensure compliance with all Reach Truck/ Counterbalance training and refreshers for warehouse operatives
  • Promoting and adhering to FIFO
  • Support the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager when raising purchase requests, working to company budgets and restraints
  • To provide sickness and holiday cover on behalf of the Inventory Analyst or other team leaders with Supply Chain/Warehouse
  • Working alongside other departments within the business
  • To ensure near misses are correctly recorded, learning from incidents and implementing preventative measures
  • Being a role model in following Health and Safety procedures, ensuring compliance from all operatives
  • People management responsibilities including recruitment, new staff inductions, absence and/or disciplinary meetings in line with The Bradford Factor, approving holiday and overtime requests, performance reviews, training matrix, grading reviews and training request.

Person Specification


We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:



  • Essential: GCSE in English and Mathematics
  • Desirable: Understanding of stock control systems, Forklift license



  • Essential: Experience as a people manager, warehouse experience
  • Desirable: Stock control department



  • Essential: Health and Safety
  • Desirable: Fire Industry knowledge


Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system
  • Desirable: SAP Business 1
  • WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
