Technical Product Trainer

The Technical Product Trainer is accountable for a structured approach to Hochiki Product training through the coordination and planning of a comprehensive program for all Hochiki Customers, Hochiki Group Companies, and Internal Stakeholders. This role will identify and deliver new, chargeable training opportunities. Department: Sales Location: Gillingham (with limited travel to other locations)

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Establish a structured approach with a clear plan for our future training needs
  • Coordinate product training to Hochiki customers, Hochiki Group Company engineers as well as Hochiki Europe staff
  • Liaise with the Technical Support and Product Manager on training needs to ensure adequate and appropriate trainer is available
  • Ensure that a Training Calendar is fully visible to all parties
  • Ensure that all training leads, provided through the business, are followed up
  • Facilitate sales growth by ensuring correct and regular product training to customers
  • Identify training needs based on regular technical support questions
  • Set up a training maintenance Programme to ensure continuity in our customer training
  • Investigate and report on any chargeable training opportunities
  • Regular overseas and UK travel across the market to customers, prospects and, where required, end-users
  • Undertake additional duties that may be required by the organisation

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:

 Qualifications

  • Essential: 5 GCSE’s (or Equivalent) including English and Mathematics
  • Desirable: FIA Training Certificates, HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

 Experience

  • Essential: Previous experience working in the fire alarm industry and experience of training delivery
  • Desirable: Experience in installing and/or commissioning of fire alarms and emergency lighting, a sound understanding of system design codes

 Knowledge

  • Essential: Experience of working in the fire detection industry
  • Desirable:

 Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn bespoke systems and programmes. Working Knowledge of SAP
  • Desirable:
