Sales Manager - Field Based (North India)

As a Sales Manager, you will work closely with your growing customer base to develop and promote Hochiki products. As first line of response in the field, it is key that you establish and maintain a strong business relationship with both existing and new clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Investigate the market and identify new key customers in the defined region.
  • Develop a true business development strategy via a vertical market approach and drive sales and revenue via appropriate channel, leading to targets being achieved.
  • Develop existing customers and guide the team to develop existing customers.
  • Influence the market for the correct use of fire detection systems.
  • Maintain and understand industry standards and potential changes to compliance and how this impacts our sales strategy.
  • Monitor and report changes in competitor situation and discuss sales strategy with team to counter such situation if it would affect Hochiki.
  • Effective communication and teamwork across the company in a timely fashion on any issues which would affect those departments.
  • Influence the market for the correct use of fire detection systems.
  • Work with End users to understand the challenges of delivering a life safety solution that meets and exceeds their objectives to deliver a safe and efficient operating facility.
  • Work with Consultants to assist in the design and delivery of projects to meet the needs of life safety systems and position Hochiki to benefit from the specification of key features within the range that deliver an advantage against its competitors.
  • Ensure that regular and routine visits/travel/telephone/e-mail contact is maintained with internal and external customers and prospects within the given region.
  • Deliver site support, workshops/seminars and ongoing training to system solution partners to assist with the delivery of system solutions.
  • Train and educate new and existing customers, end users and consultants on complete product range.
  • Assist with exhibitions, product presentations and translation work (when required).
  • Ensure a comprehensive personal level of product knowledge is maintained.
  • Accurate and timely submission of all administrative paperwork eg: monthly expense sheets.
  • Preparation and timely presentation of quotations forecasts and visit reports.
  • Prepare and send reports/monthly forecasts to Head of Sales, in line with revenue streams.
  • Production of other reports as and when requested by the Director/General Manager/Head of Sales.
  • Monitor and control customer credit status.
  • Travel within and outside business territory for Sales and Business Development.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Sales Experience, preferably in similar Industry.
  • Desirable: Knowledge in both fire and emergency lighting.

               

 Experience

  • Essential: 6+ years in a similar role with a proven track record in sales
  • Essential: Strong background of delivering technical seminars/meetings to senior industry leaders within South India End User and Consultant sector.
  • Desirable: Experience of working within the fire industry, supporting an India customer base

 

Knowledge

  • Essential: Ability to assist clients with designing life safety systems
  • Desirable: Commercial experience   

 

Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system
  • Desirable: Experience of working with SAP
