Procurement Manager

Hochiki Europe is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for implementation of the Hochiki Europe procurement strategy across the EMEA regions, implementation of a supplier management strategy and employee development of the wider procurement team.

Who you’ll report to

Operations Director


What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver and maintain the on-going development of clear and cohesive strategies for Procurement activities, ensuring services deliver on agreed quality, performance and service targets
  • Review and develop current processes, models and supplier management strategies to optimise business performance
  • Lead negotiations to ensure best value is achieved on all goods, works and supplier contracts
  • Supporting the forecasting and planning process, ensuring sufficient stock levels are in place at all times
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation; able to challenge and empathise
  • Manage key suppliers, building relationships, assessing business needs and mitigate risk
  • Manage and develop a successful and forward- thinking procurement team, developing potential and securing future succession
  • Any other duties as and when required by the Operations Director to assist with day to day duties of the Department and the Company

Person Specification

 We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:



  • Essential: CIPS qualified
  • Desirable: A University Degree in a numerical discipline


  • Essential: Minimum 3 years’ procurement leadership experience in the Electronics industry
  • Desirable: Employee and team development, coaching and mentoring       


  • Essential: Experience of working in an Electronic components manufacturing environment
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Lean management principles and continuous improvement

 Technical skills

  • Essential: Experience of using an MRP system
  • Essential: Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn bespoke systems and programmes
  • Desirable: Experience in SAP Business One

-      Effective relationship building and cross team working

-      Self-motivated with the ability to perform well under pressure, achieve goals and meet deadlines
