Emergency Lighting Business Manager

A field based role, the successful candidate will be required to support the growth strategy of Hochiki Europe by investigating, developing and identifying new market opportunities within the international arena, specifically related to Emergency Lighting products. Increase current market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and building relationships through business opportunities and initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-          Developing Emergency Lighting products across all applicable sectors

-          Investigate and report new sector opportunities and identifying new customers for the sales team based in the regions

-          Develop and negotiate strategies and positions by studying new opportunities in line with company strategies and objectives; examining risks and potentials

-          Grow business across the UK using accrued knowledge of this market as well as high level of technical expertise in this product arena

-          Maximise potential from overseas markets such as: Europe, Italy, Africa, Middle East and India

-          Investigate, report and establish a database of ‘specifiers’ eg architects, engineering companies, consultants by working in liaison with the Business Development team

-          Visit/meet and technically present the Hochiki range, keeping potential customers up to date on product offerings

-          Drive product sales through the regional sales teams, taking ownership for meeting objectives and KPI’s related to Emergency Lighting product sales

 

 

Person Specification

 

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:

 

Qualifications

  • Essential: 5 or more GCSE’s (or equivalent)
  • Desirable: Degree level or equivalent

 

Experience

  • Essential: 5+ years in a similar role
  • Desirable: Exposure to sales environment, experience of working with overseas based business and/or customers, experience of travel

 

Knowledge

  • Essential: Knowledge of working in emergency lighting industry

Desirable: Experience of working in the fire detection industry

 

Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system. Knowledge of BS5266
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of SAP. Knowledge of BS5839

 

Personal qualities

-      Strong commercial awareness

-      Excellent verbal and written communication skills- ability to deliver presentations to high priority customers

-      Good teamwork as well as ability to work alone as a remote worker

-      High attention to detail

-      Strong presentation/ training skills

-      Desire to travel for work
