ESP & CDX Intelligent & Conventional Marine Approved

Hochiki’s marine approved Intelligent and Conventional products have been designed around the existing world-proven ESP and CDX ranges and have been approved for marine use by both Germanischer Lloyd and LPCB, to the MED approval scheme.

Ideal for use on ships, oil and gas platforms, wind farms and other similar applications the Hochiki Europe Marine Range incorporates the same world proven reliability and quality as its land-based equipment.

What is the MED Marine Approval?

The M.E.D. 96/98/EC Directive is an initiative of the European Commission (EC) in the  European Union (EU) set up with the intention  to reduce costs for the end user by having a simplified classification model for marine approvals. 

All approved and authorised products, including Hochiki’s, are stored in the MarED database, which to date contains more than 35,000 datasets about products approved under the EU Marine Equipment Directive. 

Products are strictly tested by a third party, such as Germanischer Lloyd or LPCB, for use in the marine environment before being granted an approval certificate.

Intelligent Marine Range

Hochiki’s comprehensive ESP Marine Approved Intelligent (Analogue Addressable) range is suitable for even the most demanding applications and incorporates high performance sensors, a selection of input and output modules and ancillaries.

All products use Hochiki’s high integrity communications link ‘ESP’ (Enhanced Systems Protocol) that’s at the heart of the ESP range.

 

 

 

 

 

ALN-ENM
Intelligent Smoke Sensor

A Marine Approved Photoelectric Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol. 

The ALN-ENM incorporates Hochiki’s newest High Performance Chamber Technology removing the need to use Ionisation Smoke Sensors in the majority of applications.  This also allows the sensor threshold level to be increased, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio and reducing susceptibility to false alarms.

ATJ-ENM
Intelligent Heat Sensor

A Marine Approved Multi-Heat Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol. 

The ATJ-ENM incorporates a Variable Temperature heat element and a Rate Of Rise heat element, both of which are controlled from the Control Panel, allowing either thermal element or both elements simultaneously to be active in making the fire decision.

Intelligent Multi Sensor

A Marine Approved Photoelectric Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP Analogue Addressable Protocol.

CHQ Range
Intelligent Input/Output Modules

CHQ-DIM/M(SCI), a Marine Approved Dual Input Module designed to interface to a variety of inputs such as door contacts etc.

CHQ-DRC/M(SCI), a Marine Approved Dual Relay Controller module designed to provide two general-purpose relay outputs.

CHQ-DSC/M(SCI) is a Marine Approved Dual Sounder Controller, which has been designed to provide two sounder outputs.

HCP-E/M(SCI)
Intelligent Manual Call Point

A Marine Approved Manual Call Point with integral short-circuit isolator, which is fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable protocol.  The unit incorporates a bi-coloured LED, which  will show amber when a short-circuit is present but will switch to red if the unit is activated.  The unit operates by pressing the EN54 compliant non-frangible (plastic) element and is reset with a supplied key. 

Weatherproof version also available - HCP-W/M(SCI).

SLR-E3NM
Conventional Smoke Detector

A Marine Approved Photoelectric Smoke Detector, which is fully compatible with the majority of existing Marine Conventional systems.
The SLR-E3NM incorporates Hochiki’s unique High Performance photoelectric smoke chamber removing the need to use Ionisation Detectors in the majority of applications.  

An integral third terminal provides a remote indicator output.

DCD-AE3M
Conventional Heat Detector

A Marine Approved Rate of Rise Heat Detector with a 60ºC fixed temperature element using a thermistor and linearising circuit to provide an accurate linear response Heat Detector.

The DCD-AE3M is ideal for use where medium ambient temperatures exist, such as drying rooms or where Smoke Detectors are unsuitable because of the presence of steam or cooking fumes such as in a kitchen/galley.

DCD-CE3M
Conventional Heat Detector

DRD-EM
Conventional Flame Detector 

A Marine Approved IR Flame Detector designed for internal use to detect large flames.  The detector fits the CDX Marine Approved standard mounting base (YBN-R/6M).  The detection zone is a 90º cone and the detection range is up to and including 25 m.

Marine Back Box 

A Marine Approved Back Box providing a splash-proof, secure fixing for the Hochiki CDX and ESP Marine Approved Range of Detectors and their associated Bases.  Can be installed on a variety of different fixing surfaces and supports four 20 mm glanded entries, for zone, or loop cabling access. 

The unit provides protection against dust and water ingress.
